Level 8: The Spider's Den The darkness of Level 8 is absolute. No light penetrates the thick, oppressive blackness, save for the occasional flickering of a distant torch. The air is cold and damp, and the only sound is the dripping of water from the ceiling. This is the domain of the spiders. They are everywhere, their webs hanging from the ceiling like nets, their bodies scuttling across the floor. They are large and hairy, with sharp fangs and venomous stingers. They are aggressive and territorial, and they will attack any wanderer who enters their domain. The spiders are not the only danger in Level 8. The cave floor is uneven and slippery, and there are many sharp rocks and jagged stalactites that can easily injure the unwary. The cave is also home to a number of toxic gases, which can be fatal if inhaled. Those who have ventured into Level 8 have often found themselves lost and alone. Some have even gone mad from the constant darkness and isolation. Level 8 is a place of mystery, danger, and madness. It is a place that should be avoided at all costs.
